StudyAdelaide recently launched the ‘Experience Australia with us in Adelaide’ social media campaign. The #myadelaide campaign features a first-hand insight into a day in the life a StudyAdelaide Student Ambassador. The Student Ambassadors, specifically selected and representing tertiary institutions around Adelaide, will take over StudyAdelaide’s Facebook page in February and March. Their aim is to show their 460,000+ followers what student life is like in Adelaide, and answer live online questions from prospective Adelaide students.
We are proud to acknowledge that 2015 University of Adelaide College graduate, Oscar Ong, from Malaysia, will be the first of six StudyAdelaide Student Ambassadors to take viewers on a video journey through his student life in Adelaide. The video begins with Oscar waking on an ordinary day, eating breakfast and then follows his scenic bike ride to University, to an Engineering lecture, the gym and around the historical University of Adelaide campus. We also meet some of Oscar’s friends, watch him carefully hand in a group assignment and, finally, he heads to work at the StudyAdelaide office.
In addition to the video, Oscar appeared on Facebook Live from Adelaide’s busy Rundle Mall to answer questions from students from all over the world interested in studying in Adelaide.
StudyAdelaide is a destination marketing agency, funded by the South Australian Government and its member institutions, that actively promotes Adelaide as a destination for international students. Their Student Ambassador Program allows students to gain experience in event organisation, leadership, public speaking, social interaction and social media engagement.
Oscar completed a Foundation Studies Program at the University of Adelaide College in 2015and progressed to the University of Adelaide where he is currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Mechanical and Aerospace). He also won the inaugural StudyAdelaide International Student of the Year award (pathways) in 2015 for his voluntary, charitable and academic efforts.
