The College is located in the Central Business District of Adelaide, a short stroll from the University of Adelaide’s main campus.
Students at the University of Adelaide College are enrolled in University of Adelaide Programs and therefore have access to a wide range of facilities and services at the University.
Campus and Classrooms
While our Students have access to the University of Adelaide campus facilities, there is a dedicated building for College students located a short walk from the University.
The College campus is located in a modern, spacious building consisting of classrooms, relaxation areas, four computer suites, a resource centre, a student kitchen, and a student lounge.
Students may also get the opportunity to study at the University of Adelaide campus depending on timetables and availability.
Student Common Room
College students have exclusive access to the student common room where students can meet with friends, eat and relax. The room includes a plasma TV, piano, student kitchen, vending machine and couches.
The student common room has a friendly and social atmosphere making it a great place for students to meet and study or organise social gatherings.
The University of Adelaide Facilities
The University of Adelaide’s revolutionary three-level, $42 million learning hub is able to be accessed by College students.
Situated in the heart of the University’s North Terrace Campus, ‘Hub Central‘ brings together learning and social spaces with student information services – creating a new meeting place and a “first port of call” for all students.
It blends these facilities with food and service retail outlets, merges seamlessly with the Barr Smith Library and provides new connections through to lecture theatres and across campus.
The Barr Smith Library
The Barr Smith Library is one of several libraries at the University. Considered the main library, it is located in the heart of the University of Adelaide North Terrace Campus. It holds in excess of 2 million items in various physical and digital forms.
We aim to provide students with an equally as beneficial social experience as we do an academic one. With access to the University of Adelaide facilities, clubs and societies, as well as College run social activities, students are able to engage and network with other students in a relaxed and supportive environment.
The College Social Club provides students with the opportunity to gain experience working cooperatively in a committee and to assist in the planning and running of College events. The students, drawn from all programs, are engaged in all aspects of event management including planning, budgeting, and food preparation as well as mentoring new students, running art and craft sessions and raising money for charitable organisations.
Each year, a club committee is nominated and elected, giving students the experience of working cooperatively in a team towards common goals.
These events have included a 10 Year Anniversary, Halloween Parties, Quiz nights, Hip Hop Dance Classes, Movie nights, Graduation Parties, a ‘Welcome New Students’ Australiana Party, BBQs and Christmas parties.
